As your explore your next steps in finding a career, we want to come alongside you and provide experience, tools, resources, mentorship, and much more. The CHCC Summer Internship Program is designed to give you a clear look at the day-to-day work that goes into ministry-specific areas of interest.

You'll get a front-row seat to the planning and preparation that happens behind the scenes while getting to be part of executing the ministry as well!

We are eager to partner with you as you explore all that God has for you in ministry!

Children Birth-Elementary

Interns will join the Children’s Ministry team and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers, run events, help with programming, coordinate administrative and logistic support for the ministry, and ensure children and their families are well-served.

Middle School Students

Interns will work join the student ministry team and will function in both a team role & a pastoral role. This intern will take part in small group ministry, administrative and logistic support, parent communications, photography, tech, and overall team support.

Interns will join the student ministry team and will function in both a team role & a pastoral role. This intern will take part in small group ministry, administrative and logistic support, parent communications, photography, tech, and overall team support.

Local Missions
Local Missions

Administration and Serving Projects

Interns will join the missions team and learn everything there is to know about being the hands and feet of Jesus to our local community. This is a pastoral role as much an admin role. This intern will assist with the Manna Care Program, administrative and logistic support, volunteer development and coordination, and guest relations.

Adult Ministries

Small Groups & Spiritual Growth

Interns will learn how to lead and grow a healthy adult ministry. The Adult Ministries Summer Intern will facilitate membership classes, assist in volunteer development for class, study and small group leaders, support ALPHA and baptism needs, and you will learn valuable client management and customer service skills.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care

Comfort for the Hurting

Interns will learn how to shepherd and care for people. This intern will join the pastoral care team and assist them as they provide care to congregants and the community. They will also assist in the planning and execution of Pastoral Care ministries and services.

Worship and Production

Creative, Tech, & Music

Interns will be trained in all areas of Worship Production and learn valuable life skills while gaining workplace experience. The Worship Production Summer Intern will be responsible for a team role, which may including audio mixing, lighting design, live video, and overall team support. Some training will be provided, but proficiency in your respective area is expected.

Work with your Hands

Interns will be trained in all areas of Facilities Services and will learn valuable life skills in the area of facilities management. This Intern will have a team role that may include building operations, maintenance, roof replacement, irrigation systems, HVAC systems, event setup/strike, event security, custodial support, hospitality, and overall team support.

We know there is a cycle out there that’s hard to break into: You need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience. If you are passionate about serving God in your career and feel you may be called to ministry, an internship can help you find your calling.

Gain valuable life skills and experience while taking part in ministry as you work alongside gifted leaders who love teaching others how to do what they do.

FAQ'S

Are your internships paid?

Although interns are not paid, we do give each intern a $3000 honorarium over the summer!

How is housing provided?

For students without family in the area, we can provide a Host Family for you to stay with. Host homes are generous volunteers who want to provide a home away from home for you. They are not expected to provide meals or transportation.

When is the application deadline?

The applications do not have a specific deadline, but are instead open until filled. We recommend applying early as some internships fill very quickly!

Are interns responsible for their own transportation?

Yes, each intern is responsible for their own transportation to and from Highlands Ranch, as well as the entire time they are in Highlands Ranch. It is required that each intern have their own car over the summer.

How many interns are hired each summer?

While the numbers vary each summer, this summer we can take only 20 people.

What is the schedule for this summer's internship?

Students who are accepted in the internship program will be immersed in ministry for 12 weeks starting in May and concluding in August. Interns can participate in the internship program within the relevant ministry hours. Ministry core working hours are Sunday-Thursday 9:00 – 3:00pm, but schedules may vary outside those hours depending on the ministry.
