Ways to Give

At Cherry Hills Community Church, you can make a one-time gift or set up convenient, recurring contributions through PushPay.

To help us maximize the impact of your generosity, we encourage you to consider using an automatic withdrawal from your bank account (ACH) rather than a debit or credit card. This helps reduce processing fees, allowing more of your gift to go directly toward advancing God’s work.

Download the Cherry Hills Community Church app on your mobile device to give and stay connected with everything happening in our church family. This link won’t work on a desktop or laptop computer.

You can give during the offering moment in our worship service or by delivering gifts to the main reception desk at the church. Your generosity is vital to our mission to make disciples who impact the world for Jesus.

A Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) allows individuals aged 70½ or older to make tax-free donations directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a qualified charity, such as Cherry Hills Community Church and can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) if you’re subject to those rules.

Potential Tax Benefits of a QCD:

If you liquidate funds from your traditional IRA, you’re required to pay income taxes on those funds. However, if you are 70½  or older at the time of the gift and you liquidate the funds and give them to a charitable institution, such as Cherry Hills Community Church, through a qualified charitable distribution ( QCD), you are not required to pay income tax.

Important Considerations:

QCDs must be made directly from your IRA to a qualified 501(c)(3) organization.

QCD’s are subject to maximum annual contribution limits.

Donor Advised Funds allow donors to aggregate tax-deductible gifts in specific years, provide for tax-free fund investment growth, and allow donors to direct distributions across recipient charities over time. DAF’s also provide a vehicle for donating crypto currency and gifts of real property.

Donating Cryptocurrency Through a DAF

Cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) can be donated to a DAF sponsor that accepts such assets.

The DAF sponsor will convert the cryptocurrency into cash or other liquid assets, adding the proceeds to your DAF account, and will handle the technical details of the cryptocurrency transfer and conversion.

The Donor can then recommend grants to charities, such as Cherry Hills Community Church, from the DAF.

Benefits:

Avoid Capital Gains Tax: Donating appreciated cryptocurrency directly may avoid capital gains taxes you would incur if you sold the cryptocurrency yourself.

Tax Deduction: You may be able to claim a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the cryptocurrency at the time of donation (if held for more than one year).

Donating Real Property Through a DAF

Real property (e.g., land, buildings) can be donated to a DAF sponsor that accepts non-cash assets.

The DAF sponsor typically evaluates and liquidates the property and deposits proceeds deposited into your DAF account, and will handle the valuation, sale, and compliance requirements for real property donations.

The Donor can then recommend grants from the DAF to support charitable organizations, such as Cherry Hills Community Church, from the DAF.

Benefits:

Avoid Capital Gains Tax: By donating appreciated real property directly, you may avoid capital gains taxes on the appreciation.

Tax Deduction: You may be eligible to deduct the fair market value of the property if it has been held for more than one year.

Important Considerations:

DAF Sponsor Requirements: Not all DAF sponsors accept cryptocurrency or real property, so confirm this with your DAF sponsor.

Timing: Processing complex assets like real property or cryptocurrency may take more time than cash donations, so plan accordingly.

To view your giving statement on PushPay, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log In to Your Account

  1. Go to PushPay’s website.
  2. Enter your phone number associated with your account.
  3. Enter the verification PushPay sent to that phone number. Enter it to login.

If it’s your first time, select the option “Don’t have an account” and follow the prompts to set it up.

Step 2: Access Your Giving Statement

  1. Once logged in, navigate to your the Giving Statements section on the left toolbar.
  2. Review your giving statement online for accuracy.
  3. If needed, download it as a PDF or print a copy directly from the website. Look for a “Download” or “View” button.

Step 3: Contact Support if Needed

If you encounter any issues or cannot locate your giving statement:

  • Reach out to our business office for assistance.
  • Alternatively, contact PushPay’s customer support for technical help.

These steps should help you easily access your giving statement for review or tax purposes.
