These days many of us are discovering anew the meaning of “enough” and experiencing our own definition of “sacrifice.” We’re in a season of Living Without.

And perhaps in this time, we’re more ready than ever to listen to the voice of Jesus in our daily reality. You see, Jesus actually calls us to Living Without — because knows how easily we are captivated by things that will not ultimately satisfy us.

Join us to explore five challenging parables from the Gospel of Luke and to learn together the spiritual secrets of Living Without.

The parables of Jesus are enigmatic and even controversial. He admitted as much when he said to his disciples: To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God; but to others I speak in parables, so that “looking they may not perceive, and listening they may not understand” (Luke 8:10, quoting Isaiah 6:9).

Frankly, it’s almost dangerous to unlock the secrets of the parables. They are hard to understand and even harder to live. As the saying goes: “Ignorance is bliss.” But we know better.

We’re serious about following the teaching of Jesus, even when it means Living Without.
