I am the Director of Manna ministry at Cherry Hills Community Church. Manna provides food, clothing, haircuts, a medical clinic and the gospel message through this ministry. I grew up as a child knowing of Jesus but I really came to faith through a personal family tragedy in 1989. My husband was killed by a lightning strike in the back yard of our Arvada home, along with his brother.
A few years later I became involved in Compa food ministry and I learned the need for food ministries in the Denver metro area and how food can open the door for the love of Jesus to bring hope and help to hurting families. I also turned knowledge of Jesus into wisdom through classes at Calvary Chapel Bible College. Did you know that I met Gary (my loving, wonderful husband) shoveling 40,000 pound of potatoes from the back of a semi trailer? I volunteered with Manna for a number of years before I was asked to run the clothing back and then in 2009 was asked to become the director of Manna ministry. Little did I realize that the first shovelful of potatoes would turn into a full time ministry.
