MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a program designed to encourage mothers with children under school age through relationships and resources. MOPS provides a caring, accepting atmosphere for women of many backgrounds and lifestyles, who have a shared desire to be the best mothers they can be.

At Cherry Hills Community Church, we offer two MOPS groups, Hearts and Stars. Our MOPS meet every other Thursday for two and a half hours. During our meetings, moms have an opportunity to hear dynamic speakers, share concerns and ideas in a small group setting, explore creativity and serve our community. A typical MOPS meeting schedule looks like this:

  • Tables bringing food arrive. Food is set up before 8:45 a.m.
  • MOPS women arrive and take children to Moppets rooms
  • Opening Prayer. Women find their tables and go through breakfast food tables.
  • Microphone Announcement
  • Guest Speaker/Testimony
  • Table Discussion
  • Craft/Community Service
  • Closing Prayer. Dismiss to pick up children by 11:30 a.m.

MOPS Requirements

In addition to all the wonderful benefits of being in MOPS, we also have two requirements of MOPS moms in Hearts and Stars.

  1. If you have children enrolled in Moppets, you will be required to work one MOPS meeting per semester in the children’s Moppets program for the other MOPS group. You will schedule in advance the day you would like to fulfill this requirement. Childcare provided. If you do not enroll your children in Moppets, you will not be required to work this shift.
  2. You will be required to work a 4-hour shift at our annual MOPS Consignment Sale which takes place on a Friday and Saturday in the spring. Childcare is not provided.

If you have any questions, don’t worry! You will receive more information at your MOPS meetings about these two requirements. But we would like to give you a big “THANKS!” in advance for your help!
