7News anchor Mitch Jelniker recently honored Cherry Hills volunteer Sharon Gardner with a 7Everyday Hero award, celebrating 10 years of Christmas for our Troops.  Click here for more information.

Over the years we have also had the privilege of packing thousands of Christmas care packages that are prayed over and sent to those on our prayer list as well as to Ft. Carson soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Photos, cards, and letters of encouragement are cherished the most, especially from children. Chaplains distribute boxes to those who have not received anything from home. For more information contact Sharon Gardner or Keri Brehm.

Letter from a soldier...

Dear Cherry Hills Church, you may never know what a blessing it was to receive the care package you sent... it was truly remarkable! The letters and cards you sent from the children, teens, and adults of your church were inspiring: I spent an entire evening reading them, and it was a rich and enduring blessing to realize the time, sentiment and effort that went into writing them.

One of the hardships of a remote tour is the separation we feel - separation from family and friends, neighborhoods, churches, communities. The letters and cards filled that void; they made me feel once again the link of Christian brotherhood and family... and thus were much appreciated.

In His Service,
Colonel Randy M.
