Denver
Kelly Downs – Pray for individuals who would be excited by volunteering to meet Muslims and other cross cultural relationships in conversational English in Denver. There are lots of Arabs who desire friendships with Americans. Pray for me personally as things in my personal world have great impact on future ministry. Pray for wisdom in decision-making as to where the Lord would have me landing. Pray for how a church-planting seminar will impact the ongoing internship with 7 people this month as we continue ministry and relationships with Muslims this spring. Pray the Lord would lead us into bold and relevant conversations.
Tami Snowden - I am in South Carolina working with Dr. Phyllis Kilbourn, my mentor with children at risk. There is opportunity to possibly assist her in training nationals throughout the world. It is very much my desire to do this. Please pray God would bring this to fruition, in His time!
Jim & Dottie Groen - Jim Weber and eleven other folks will be traveling to Cambodia on February 1 for 10 days of ministry. They will be working with White Lotus, a ministry that rescues girls from prostitution and several prisons that are open to the Gospel. Patty Dayton heads up a program called Sew Blessed and is traveling to Nicaragua January 17 to help train a number of ladies to learn how to sew and start a small business.
Greg Dixon will be traveling to Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala January 19-23. In Honduras we are trying to locate land to build a community Center.
Chris Henshaw - Help Chris manage his time with his family, they are his first mission field.
Give the Henshaw family grace and patience with travel schedules and dinners and events that happen on weekends and nights. Pray for God's will to be done through the Henshaw’s and Missions Ministries. Ask the Lord to prepare the way for building events this year, 2012. Ask god to bless Villa Esperanza and the surrounding areas with continued peace. Pray that Missions Ministries desire to build more community and fellowship opportunities are the same as what the local people desire. Thank the Lord that He has raised up men and women like Leo, Bill, Jesus, and Claudia to lead the ministry in Mexico. Thank the Lord for his provision, for the Henshaw's and for the ministry, it has been confirmation to continue the journey.
Give Chris the wisdom and sound advice he needs to lead the ministry.
James & Lindsay Cottier - Please pray for Lindsay’s pregnancy. We are only 7 weeks out from D-day and we pray that the Lord would continue to grow this little boy (it's a boy!) to be wholly healthy, and that He would prepare us to be godly parents and to steward this little life well. Also please pray for our ongoing fundraising. We had a great October and Nov, but Dec was disappointing. We are 70% funded, and really want to do well in the coming months to push that to 100%. Please pray for continued endurance and persistence, and that the Lord would direct us to those he's chosen to be on our team.
North America
Greg & Nancy Fritz (Washington) – We have several ministry trips in mind for this year. Nancy hopes to train children workers in several international destinations for Kidzana. I hope to travel to several counties in Africa and Central Asia to train leaders. Pray for wisdom as we prioritize these trips and for enough money to cover the costs. Specifically, pray for the logistics of Nancy’s trip to Indonesia in March: venues, schedule, etc. We are grateful that Nancy’s health has been good. Please pray for her continued victory over cancer. Praise God for Nancy’s time with CHCC’s 180 Bible Blast kids plus leaders in December and for the week of meetings she had with Kidzana last week in Seattle.
Luke Runyon (S. Sudan) –South Sudan always needs prayer these days. Different parts of the country have had 'security issues', either with Rebel groups, or serious cattle raiding incidents, or lingering issues between North and South Sudan. Political and economic instability are the result of unresolved border demarcation, disagreement over oil pipeline usage costs, citizenship, customs fees, and even 1 state whom is still in dispute if it will be part of the North or South.
Joann Tallman (Tennessee) – I would like to have a team go with me to Kazakhstan in 2012 - if the Lord says “yes”, I need to know which month is His choice. I would like to have a work team for Israel to paint at my school there (where I tutored). I need a minimum of 10 people with a maximum of 30. I am going to Israel in April to be with a Jewish friend who has extensive cancer. She is not a believer - I am praying for her salvation and her healing.
Jimmy & Cathy Webster (Texas) – Jimmy is conducting a recruiting search for a National Campus Director. Please pray for wisdom and discernment in the selection process. Wisdom for Cathy as she meets with athletes at the University of Texas during the Spring semester the possibility of Jimmy & Cathy attending the Summer Olympics in London in August.
Tim & Kathy Barta (East L.A.) – Pray for open doors among Latinos, the Lord's wisdom, and for new generations of laborers in God's harvest. We're beginning a home discipleship group at our church in February and desire that those involved would grow in their passion to know, love, become like, and serve Jesus. A new evangelistic study is also starting in February with a few friends; please pray for the salvation of one who does not yet have faith. Several people whom Tim is meeting with are facing emotional and marriage struggles and need God's inner healing in their lives. As we help to plan a Summer 2012 short-term discipleship program for 18-25 year-olds, God's wisdom in recruiting and planning the program are needed. We're thankful for our two daughters, their families, four grandchildren, and for the fifth due in June! We're also thankful for our son and would value your prayers for him as he seeks to transition from two part-time jobs to one full-time job and follow Christ. Please pray that we (Tim and Kathy) would each choose daily to grow deeper in our relationship with one another and Christ. We praise our Lord for His unfailing love!
Dave & Connie McBride (Georgia) – We highly value your prayers for Connie’s mother. She is scheduled to have her stomach removed due to cancer. Connie flies to Germany to take care of her father while mom is in the hospital. We are praying that this will result in both coming to know the Savior. We are recruiting people to join the team in Israel to establish a team in Nazareth. Pray for workers! We have potential candidates from the Caribbean and from California and from Georgia.
Doug & Pam Nuenke (Colorado) – Doug just returned from a 10 day trip to Kuala Lumpur. Praise God for a good time with our International leadership team as well as meeting with our leadership team in the Asia/Pacific area. Doug moves quickly into a US National Leadership team meeting on Tuesday the 17th. Pray for clarity and wisdom for those meetings, amidst jet lag!
We are enjoying our new (first) grandbaby, Arie (R-ree) (born to Beth Ann and husband Eric) They live in north Denver.
Jay & Jessica Gardiner (Colorado) - Jessica and I ask that you would pray for two girls that Jessica has been meeting with in a weekly Bible study, their names are Lauren and Olga. Please pray that their eyes would be opened to the truth of the Gospel and that they would both repent. Also, I ask that you would pray for a couple guys that I have met on campus. The first student is Hanyin (high-yin), who is from China. Each week during the fall semester he has been seeing the truth more and more, pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to hit him, so that he would surrender his life to the Lord. Also, please pray for a freshman named Bryce. Pray that he would see how much the Lord loves him, and that he would desire a relationship with the Lord. Also, we ask that you would pray for the Lord to draw more students unto Him as we start the spring semester on January 17th. Pray that we would meet those that have a desire to not just know about God, but to know Him personally.

North America (continued)
Dale & Elaine Rhoton (OM Ships-California)
– The Logos Hope has just arrived in Cebu, the Philippines, and will be
in the Philippines until the end of June. Two months of her time in the
Philippines will be dedicated to technical repairs to enable the
replacing of two generators next year. It is a huge project we have
named The Power Up Project. It will give power to the ship. Generators
are needed to run our engines, the cooking in the galley, the lights,
and other systems on board. We continue to pray for a long-term chief
engineer. We have engineers who come for a voyage or two but it would be
so much better if we had a chief engineer who could stay for a couple
years or longer. Operation Mobilization is now praying about the
appointment of the next CEO for OM International. May the Lord guide who
should take the torch next.
Europe
Pavel & Julia Raus (Czech Republic) – Please pray for one couple we
have been working with. They are both part of a small church. This
summer she said that she wanted a divorce. He was shocked and wants to
save his family (they have two small girls). Now she is willing to work
on the marriage but in the meantime she started another affair. It is
quite obvious that her problems are deeper. The situation is very
traumatic for the whole their church. Please, pray, that God would give
hope to her and she would have courage to keep the marriage and start to
work on issues. Pray please for the vision of the Retreat Center for
Pastors. Pray for the necessary funds and for God's direction. Pray that
the Lord will show His mercy and stand behind that project. The need is
huge, that is being confirmed every week. Pray for us to be humble
enough and to be fully undividedly devoted to Him. Also pray for the
vision trip to the Czech Republic in the fall planned with Cherry Hills
Church. Pray for preparations of the trip, wise decisions, and
organization.
Leah Cox (Czech Republic) – Petr A. Jr. is continuing to battle cancer,
although it's been increasingly difficult. Please pray for his healing,
and for him to know the Lord. *Petr A. Sr., Milena and Bara...please
pray for this family, for Milena and Bara to be able to draw on the
Lord's strength and for Petr Sr. to come to faith. He has a lot of
great questions and had a very positive visit with our pastor Martin
recently. Please pray for the whole family to know the Lord's peace and
love! *Petr F. is one of our young leaders here in Strakonice and has
been a huge blessing to us. Even though he's only been a believer for
about 2 years, his energy and enthusiasm add so much to our youth
ministry. Recently he's been taking bigger steps of faith in school and
service; please pray for his protection and for wisdom, and please join
us in praising God for him! *Petr N. has been a part of our youth group
since 2008 and even as an unbeliever has been an extremely integral
part of life and ministry in Strakonice. Lately, his questions about
Jesus have been deeper and we're praying that he'll truly come to know
Christ. Praise God for what he's doing in Petr and please pray for him
to clearly come home to the Lord!
Central America
Bobby & Britney Hibbs (El Salvador) – Please pray for our physical
protection. Wisdom and discernment as we are making some administrative
decisions in the church. For our youth who will be starting back to
class soon. That they will do well in their classes, manage their time
well, and be surrounded with quality friendships that will help bring
them closer to the Lord.
Asia
GC (SE Asia) – Pray for unity for the “Book It” national workers. Pray
that the God would open up the hearts of those who need to be reconciled
and humble themselves before the Lord in this issue. Pray for a believer from the same ethnic group as Muj to be found so
that she can be baptized next month. 3. Pray for God to raise up 2-3 in
the “Book It” work and to prepare those with whom they with gather
together for study.
Children’s Shelter of Cebu (Philippines) – Pray for Phoeby who continues
to need to be in isolation. Pray for her and her siblings (Christian
and Duan) to be adopted soon so that Phoeby can receive the specialized
medical care that she needs. Pray specifically for our counselors,
Laarne and Eldie, as they deal with the emotional healing that each of
our kids need. Pray for the kids who are waiting to join their adoptive families. Pray
that paperwork will go smoothly both for the waiting families and for
the children.
Matt & Michelle (Thailand) – Please pray for us as we travel to
India January 18 (Michelle for one week, Matt for two and 1/2 weeks)
Please pray for those we interact with to be more and more drawn to
Jesus. Pray for some of the training Matt will do with his Business as
Mission staff – that God’s presence would be there and that there would
be great opportunities to share about the Lord. Please continue to pray
for Nicole’s (age 16) headaches to decrease. She gets headaches when
she exercises. Pray for healing. Praise God for Matt’s recent trip to
Bangladesh. He saw several BAM businesses and the potential for many
others that could truly have a Kingdom impact.
Dave & Debby Colburn (Papua, New Guinea) - Praises that our
agency-required medical exams in Australia went well and that both of
our major medical conditions show some improvement. Please pray that we
will have received enough year-end one-time gifts to cover the expenses
of this trip. Australia is quite expensive to visit and stay in.
Praises, that a small church provided us with more affordable housing
than what the normal motel or guesthouse rates would be here! Prayers
for the USA economics this year! Prayers for the USA elections this
year!
Paul & Annie (India) – Praise the Lord for the Christmas
"soul-winning" campaign November & December 2011. (Mission's Folk
Theater outreach, Evangelism campaigns, Christian literature, Door to
door evangelism etc.) We have just compiled the numbers of people that
were presented the Gospel for the first time... 39,298 individuals were
presented with a clear Gospel message. Now begins the long hard work of
follow-up with all the 13,273 "Receiving Christ" decision cards. We have
learned over the last 47 years on this Mission-field it takes us
usually 5 years of consistent & persistent discipleship to really
see "fruit that remains" with a new disciple-maker themselves. Pray for
protection and provision for the work at hand!
Africa
Jennie Cerullo & Marcia Ball (S. Africa) - We left for South Africa
on January 11th and will be there for 3 months. Please pray for our
safety and for all the meetings we will be having with the Ministry of
Education and the University of South Africa about using the It Takes
Courage! Program to reach 525 schools and 500,000 students.
Middle East
Rose (Israel) - I need to raise support in order to return to Israel. I
am at 14% right now. Please pray for a good turnout for my fundraising
events on January 18 and February 5. Please pray for the safety of Israel in the midst of rumors of war. |
