Children's Shelter of Cebu

Ministry Team: Compassion
Since 1979, Children’s Shelter of Cebu has been providing homes for orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children in the Philippines. In their two residences they care for 70-80 children at any given time. These children range in age from birth to teenagers and live in the home until they are adopted or reunited with their parents. About 20% of their children have special needs, including cerebral palsy, blindness, br
ain damage and malnutrition. While in their home, the children receive comprehensive services that address their medical, educational, emotional, nutritional and spiritual needs. CSC’s staff members, house parents and childcare workers strive to simulate family life in all aspects of the ministry. Nearly 70 Filipino workers assist their staff in ministry as social workers, house parents, tutors, childcare and household workers, guards, caretakers and office staff.
Paul and Marlys Healy are the founders of the Shelter and current Field Directors. Cherry Hills has sent many Discover The World teams to the Shelter throughout the past several years.
