Throughout Christian history, it has been commonplace for people to be interred or inurned on church grounds. The creation of The Memorial Garden enables us to minister to those in our church family and in our community who desire to have a place close to their home and church where loved ones can be remembered.
Church members will have the first opportunity to reserve a niche in The Memorial Garden. After our church family has had the opportunity to reserve a niche, we will extend the opportunity to those in our community.
As reservation fees are received for niches, funds will be set aside for the maintenance and preservation of The Memorial Garden. There will be an agreement between Cherry Hills Community Church and the user for the care of The Memorial Garden which includes niches, a Common Urn and The Wall of Remembrance.
Our Pastoral Care department will coordinate with families to arrange for memorial services.
An individual or family may reserve as many niches as they would like for their loved ones.
The Wall of Remembrance will help us remember and honor our loved ones. We realize loved ones may be interred (burial) or inurned (cremated) elsewhere and we welcome the opportunity for them to be remembered at Cherry Hills Community Church.
Access to cremated remains inurned in a niche will be available when coordinated by our Pastoral Care department.
The Memorial Garden will be constructed using a bank loan and repaid using the reservation fees paid by those who reserve a niche, space in the Common Urn or a plaque on The Wall of Remembrance.
If you are interested in reserving a space in The Memorial Garden, you may fill out an Expression of Interest Letter and submit it with your $100 deposit. Individuals will be added to our Priority List based on date deposit is received. Niche selection will begin when construction is complete and reservation fees are paid.
Definition of Reserve: Cherry Hills Community Church owns the niches. Individuals may reserve niches for the care and safekeeping of their cremated remains.
