Thailand Teachers Trip

October 2012
Chiang Mai, Thailand

In partnership with the Unreached Peoples team and Frontier Labourers for Christ

I was in Thailand for two weeks and had a great time! I really enjoyed teaching English over there. I had about 10 students each day, who were a complete joy to work with. I was really blessed to have some great students in my class. We even took a field trip to the grocery store to practice shopping in English. -Annette Miller

Cherry Hills Community Church has been supporting the work of Beverly and the late Daniel Kalnin at Frontier Labourers (FLC) for over 17 years. The mission of FLC is to bring the Gospel of Christ to the tribal peoples of Northern Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) through church planting, crop substitution programs, village development projects, leadership development and the Barefoot Doctors ministry.

FLC has again asked for a team of "teachers" to come to Chiang Mai, Thailand to teach Thai nationals and Burmese refugees English as a second language.

No special skills are required. You will teach conversational English using the Shurley Method of teaching English as a second language - Step by Step, and the Oxford Picture Dictionary along with curriculum based on the gospels of Matthew and John. The students also learn how to use puppets as an outreach to the people of Chiang Mai.

Knowing how to read and speak English allows students to obtain higher paying jobs.

Join us, even if you have never taught, this will be the experience of a lifetime.

Ministry Opportunities

  • Teaching conversational English and creative writing
  • Working with refugees from Laos and Burma
  • Provide training for the nationals of Thailand
  • Learning about the people of the Golden Triangle and how Frontier Labourers for Christ is impacting the nations for Christ.
