Prison Ministry
TBD
There are six prisons within two hours driving time of Highlands Ranch that need our help.

Join our Prison Ministry to reach out to inmates with the love of Jesus. There are a variety of opportunities for both men and women to serve including: Bible studies, mentoring youth and adults both in prison and upon release, visiting and worshiping with inmates and providing Christmas gifts for children of incarcerated parents. The vision of the Prison Ministry is to provide a variety of opportunities to “visit those in prison.”

Men's Information

Ministry is done over a single weekend starting on Friday night and ending on Sunday afternoon. Volunteers would have to stay overnight near the prison at their own expense. This format allows for three sessions of 2-3 hours each to cover the material. The materials to be taught in a weekend seminar format are:

  • A Banquet in the Grave: addictions
  • Crown Ministries: money & finances
  • SHINE

All of the topics have materials that can be easily acquired, and many come with DVD teaching so that the volunteers will require very little preparation and can easily facilitate a powerful learning experience.

We are also planning two prison trips to one of the prisons, one in March and one in May. This is a day-long trip and you will need to get clearance to enter

Women's Information

Prison Fellowship’s Transformational Ministry (TM) is a holistic approach to ministry that has at its core two key elements: Transformational Discipleship and Reconciliation. Transformational Discipleship is a more intentional and in-depth approach of equipping people to demonstrate Christ-like thinking, behavior, and relationships and is done in the context of relational Christianity. Reconciliation is the victorious transition back to family and community (with the help of a mentor) as productive ambassadors of Christ faithfully serving through the local church. TM is accomplished within the context of a Community of Care (COC)—local networks of churches (“Bridge Churches”), community-based organizations, state and local policy makers, volunteers, collaborators, departments of corrections (DOC), and other government agencies committed to pre-release and post-release activities that lead to the transformation and reconciliation of prisoners.
