Gene Kissinger:
How the Great Commission Inspires Great Business

Several years ago, I came across the book, Great Commission Companies, by economist Steve Rundle and missiologist Tom Steffen. This book expressed new paradigms for the convergence of business and missions and described how Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs were intentionally creating businesses in strategic locations, pursuing profits while remaining unabashedly Christian in their purpose.

The book opened my eyes to new possibilities for missions-minded business professionals who want to change the world to the glory of God. I began to share the book with men and women working in the marketplace, challenging them to this vision and to becoming a part of the birthing of a movement at Cherry Hills around that vision. That’s how Cherry Hills @ Work got started.

We encourage you begin your own journey in “Business as Mission” by reading the book and taking advantage of other resources listed here. For your convenience, Great Commission Companies is available at Inklings Bookstore and in our church library.
